Softball Game Preview: Pine-Richland Rams vs. Seneca Valley Raiders

The Pine-Richland Rams will take on the Seneca Valley Raiders at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.

On Monday, Pine-Richland made easy work of Butler and carried off a 16-3 win. The victory continues a trend for the Rams in their matchups with the Golden Tornado: they've now won eight in a row.

Meanwhile, Seneca Valley put another one in the bag on Monday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Woodland Hills 17-1. The contest marked the Raiders' most dominant win of the season so far.

Abby Kalkowski was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over two innings while giving up just one earned run but no hits. Kalkowski was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double.

In other batting news, Maci Milosicevic was incredible, scoring two runs while going 2-for-2. Another player making a difference was Liv Herrem, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Seneca Valley always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .680. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Seneca Valley pushed their record up to 5-0 with the victory, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.1 runs on average over those games. As for Pine-Richland, their victory bumped their record up to 2-0.

Pine-Richland suffered a grim 22-3 defeat to Seneca Valley when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can Pine-Richland avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
