Softball Game Preview: Apopka Blue Darters vs. The First Academy Royals

The Apopka Blue Darters will face off against The First Academy Royals at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Apopka's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They blew past Lake Buena Vista 15-0. The win was familiar territory for the Blue Darters, who have now won five matchups in a row.

Meanwhile, The First Academy got the win against Mount Dora Christian Academy on Monday by a conclusive 9-3. The Royals haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

Isabella Brown was a major factor no matter where she played. She pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Brown was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-2.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Skylar Sullivan, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in RBI (two). Another player making a difference was Elissa Moore, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Apopka's win bumped their record up to 15-4. As for The First Academy, they now have a winning record of 9-8.

Apopka took their victory against The First Academy in their previous meeting back in March of 2017 by a conclusive 8-1 score. Do the Blue Darters have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Royals turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
