Baseball Recap: Grace Academy Gets the Win

Grace Academy won the last time they faced Westminster Catawba Christian and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Lions walked away with a 7-4 win over the Indians.

Brayden Blinn looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (two).

At the plate, Grace Academy let Andrew Nowlin and Fletcher Owens run wild. Nowlin got on base in two of his three plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs, while Owens got on base in two of his three plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run. That's the most stolen bases Nowlin has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Grant Lowder, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Grace Academy's victory bumped their record up to 13-9. As for Westminster Catawba Christian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-12.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Grace Academy will welcome Ambassador Christian School at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Westminster Catawba Christian, they will be playing at home against Pro Stock Royals Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
