Preview: Elmwood-Murdock Knights vs. Palmyra Panthers
Elmwood-Murdock is 10-0 against the Panthers since February of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Elmwood-Murdock Knights will be playing at home against the Palmyra Panthers at 7:00 p.m. Elmwood-Murdock will be looking to keep their 17-game home win streak (dating back to last season) alive.
Elmwood-Murdock put the finishing touches on their seventh blowout victory of the season on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Mead 61-5 at home. With that victory, Elmwood-Murdock brought their scoring average up to 50.5 points per game.
Elmwood-Murdock had a senior duo take command as Laney Frahm scored 13 points along with seven steals and six rebounds and Tatum Backemeyer scored 14 points along with four steals. Frahm hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Brooklyn Mans was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with two steals.
Even though Palmyra has not done well against the Bulldogs recently (they were 0-5 in their previous five matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Palmyra walked away with a 46-39 win over the Bulldogs. The win was just what Palmyra needed coming off of a 53-30 defeat in their prior contest.
Elmwood-Murdock's victory bumped their record up to 16-1. As for Palmyra, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season.
Everything went Elmwood-Murdock's way against the Panthers in their previous matchup on Thursday as the Knights made off with a 53-30 win. Will Elmwood-Murdock repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
