Soccer Recap: Irvine Comes Up Short

Irvine's game on Tuesday was all tied up 0-0 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They fell just short of the Woodbridge Warriors by a score of 2-1. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Vaqueros came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 218th, while the Warriors are ranked 797th).

Irvine's defeat dropped their record down to 6-3-1. As for Woodbridge, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-8-4.

Irvine will head out to take on Laguna Beach at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Irvine's last five games have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Woodbridge, they will be playing at home against Northwood at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
