Softball Game Preview: Union Christian Academy Eagles vs. Destiny Christian Wildcats

Union Christian Academy hasn't had much luck against Destiny Christian recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Eagles will face off against the Wildcats at 4:00 p.m. Union Christian Academy has given up an average of 9.6 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Union Christian Academy is headed into Thursday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Tuesday. They lost 19-9 to Providence Academy.

Meanwhile, Destiny Christian strolled into their game on Friday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They were the clear victors by a 17-2 margin over Life Prep. Considering the Wildcats have won five matchups by more than eight runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Zoey Landers made a splash while hitting and pitching. She pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring four runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

In other batting news, Cienna Davis was a standout: she scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-2. Another player making a difference was Rian Tipton, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Destiny Christian was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .421. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .312 or higher in five consecutive contests.

Union Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Destiny Christian, their record now sits at 9-0.
