Basketball Recap: Stanton Takes a Loss

Stanton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss. They took a 65-50 bruising from the Baker County Wildcats. The Blue Devils were down 54-31 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Baker County had a senior duo take command as Jackson Carver went 7 for 9 on his way to 17 points and Will Johnson went 5 of 9 en route to 11 points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jamarion Goodman, who posted five points and seven rebounds.

Stanton's defeat dropped their record down to 2-13. As for Baker County, they pushed their record up to 8-4 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Stanton will challenge KIPP Bold City at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Baker County, they will take on Temple Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
