Baseball Recap: Jackson Center Snaps Five-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against New Bremen, Jackson Center was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They came out on top against the Fairlawn Jets by a score of 6-1. That looming 6-1 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Tigers yet this season.

Blake Noble spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on two hits and racked up nine Ks.

At the plate, Jackson Center's victory was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Ian Stengel, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one run. Stengel has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

Jackson Center's win ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-7. As for Fairlawn, they dropped their record down to 2-8 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home.

Looking ahead, Jackson Center will venture away from home to challenge Marion Local at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Fairlawn, they will welcome Ansonia at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
