Basketball Recap: Pine Crest Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Pine Crest and Sports Leadership & Management squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Pine Crest had to settle for second. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 62-61 to Sports Leadership & Management. The Panthers have been going strong on the season, but this is now their second defeat in a row.

Alex Jenkins was Pine Crest's leading scorer, having posted seven points.

It was another big night for Ethan Taylor, who dropped a double-double with 23 points and ten boards for Sports Leadership & Management. Taylor is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down nine or more in the last six games he's played. Another player making a difference was Isaiah Lindor, who went 5-for-11 en route to 13 points.

Pine Crest's loss dropped their record down to 20-7. As for Sports Leadership & Management, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-10.

Pine Crest does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Sports Leadership & Management, they will face off against Cardinal Gibbons at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Cardinal Gibbons knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 11 games -- so hopefully Sports Leadership & Management likes a good challenge.
