Baseball Recap: Central Valley Academy Thunder vs. Proctor Raiders
Central Valley Academy extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping them down to 0-3. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-3 heartbreaker at the hands of the Proctor Raiders. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Thunder have suffered since April 14, 2025.
As for Proctor, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-2. Those five runs were actually the fewest they have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.
For Proctor's part, Cullen Sheridan made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over six innings while giving up three earned runs off eight hits. Sheridan was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.
In other batting news, George Garrett was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two triples, and three RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2025.
Central Valley Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Whitesboro at 7:00 p.m. on May 14. As for Proctor, they will take on Notre Dame at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
