Soccer Game Preview: San Tan Foothills vs. Benjamin Franklin

San Tan Foothills hasn't had much luck against Benjamin Franklin recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The San Tan Foothills Sabercats will challenge the Benjamin Franklin Chargers at 4:00 p.m.

San Tan Foothills fell victim to Seton Catholic and their airtight defense on Tuesday. They came up short against the Sentinels, falling 9-0. While losing is never fun, the Sabercats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona soccer rankings (they are ranked 157th, while the Sentinels are ranked 21st).

Meanwhile, Benjamin Franklin entered their tilt with ALA - Ironwood on Tuesday with nine consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with ten. They never let the Warriors onto the board and left with an 8-0 victory. The Chargers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten games by three goals or more this season.

Benjamin Franklin's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-1-1. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those four matchups. As for San Tan Foothills, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-7.

San Tan Foothills might still be hurting after the 13-0 loss they got from Benjamin Franklin in their previous meeting back in January of 2024. Can San Tan Foothills avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
