Volleyball Recap: Addison Alverson Key Part of Team Effort in Black Bears Win

River View won the last time they faced Maysville and things went their way on Thursday too. The Black Bears blew past the Panthers 3-0.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant River View was: they took every set by at least 13 points. The final score came out to 25-6, 25-12, 25-12.

River View's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Addison Alverson, who had five aces and four digs. Those five aces gave Alverson a new career-high.

Alverson wasn't the only good server: River View was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 17 aces. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Maysville didn't served any aces.

The victory got River View back to even at 1-1. As for Maysville, their defeat was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-2.

Looking ahead, River View will square off against Philo at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Maysville, they will challenge Licking Valley at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
