Soccer Game Preview: Eno River Academy vs. Vance Charter

The Eno River Academy Bobcats will head out on the road to face off against the Vance Charter Knights at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Eno River Academy's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for six straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Eno River Academy's offense. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Oxford Prep on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Vance Charter and Excelsior Classical Academy combined for 26 shots on goal on Tuesday, which explains the impressive six total goals scored. The Knights fell 4-2 to the Flying Lions. While losing is never fun, Vance Charter can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 386th, while Excelsior Classical Academy are ranked 94th).

Jacob Lazar wasn't going to let Excelsior Classical Academy walk away unscathed as he scored both of Vance Charter's goals, bringing his season total up to 25 goals.

Eno River Academy's loss dropped their record down to 3-14. As for Vance Charter, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-7-1.

Eno River Academy might still be hurting after the 5-1 loss they got from Vance Charter in their previous meeting on October 7th. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Bobcats were down 4-1.
