Softball Recap: Morrice Gets the Win

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Morrice). They put the hurt on the Bendle Tigers with a sharp 15-3 win on Monday. The Orioles not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since April 29, 2024 (when they won 17-2).

Caitlin Brewer made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed five innings while giving up three earned runs off six hits. Brewer was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-5 with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Those stolen bases marked the first that she has snagged this season.

In other batting news, Morrice got a massive performance out of Belle Hoy, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That triple marked the first that Hoy has hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Krissy Hovis, who went 3-for-4 with five RBI, two runs, and one double.

Morrice always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .651. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Morrice's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Bendle, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Morrice will face off against Dansville at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Bendle, they will take on Atherton at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
