Soccer Recap: Appling County Comes Up Short

Appling County managed to keep up with Toombs County until halftime on Tuesday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Appling County Pirates lost 3-0 to the Toombs County Bulldogs. Having soared to a lofty four goals in the game before, the Pirates' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Appling County's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Toombs County, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1.

Looking ahead, Appling County will take on Crisp County at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Appling County is facing Crisp County at the right time seeing as Crisp County is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Toombs County, they will face off against Vidalia at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Toombs County is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3.5 goals per game this season.
