After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Hononegah, Jefferson was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 10-9 win over the Belvidere Bucs. The high-scoring effort was just what the J-Hawks needed considering they were shut out in their previous game.

Jefferson's victory ended an 11-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 4-10. As for Belvidere, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Jefferson will square off against Boylan Catholic at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Titans have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.08 runs per game on average), something the J-Hawks will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Belvidere, they will challenge Wauconda at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Bulldogs have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.9 runs per game on average), something the Bucs will no doubt try to take advantage of.
