Baseball Recap: Fulton Comes Up Short

Fulton dropped their record down to 18-7 on Wednesday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins on the road. They fell just short of the Macon Tigers by a score of 3-2. The Hornets were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tigers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2023.

As for Macon, the victory (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 16-5. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.9 runs over those games.

For Macon's part, Derek Weydert spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on four hits and racked up seven Ks. Weydert has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up a single earned run in four consecutive appearances.

Looking ahead, Fulton will challenge Southern Boone at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Macon does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
