Basketball Recap: Bishop O'connell Skates Past Summer Creek with Ease

Bishop O'Connell had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They breezed past the Summer Creek Bulldogs to the tune of 84-43 on Friday.

Bishop O'Connell was led to victory by Darius Bivins and Corey Dixon. Bivins shot 58% from the field to rack up 15 points in addition to seven assists and six steals, while Dixon went 7-for-14 on his way to 19 points and four steals. The contest was Bivins' third in a row with at least 15 points. Justin Edwards was another key player, going 6-for-7 en route to 12 points and six boards.

Summer Creek's loss dropped their record down to 5-4.

Bishop O'Connell wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 77-70 win against Heritage on the 29th. As for Summer Creek, they have also already played their next matchup, a 75-66 defeat against Calvary Baptist Academy on the 29th.
