New Braunfels Thunder had already won five in a row and they went ahead and made it six on Friday. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over the San Marcos Academy Bears. That's more bragging rights for the Homeschool, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Junie Flores paced New Braunfels Thunder's offense, picking up five kills. Flores got some help from Maddison Heiser and her nine assists. Heiser also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Selah Clayton, racking up three apiece.

New Braunfels Thunder's win bumped their record up to 6-1. As for San Marcos Academy, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Looking ahead, New Braunfels Thunder will be taking part in a tournament against Incarnate Word Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for San Marcos Academy, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Regents at 6:00 p.m. on September 2.
