Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Marist walked away with it. They had just enough and edged out the Lake Park Lancers 2-1. The victory was familiar territory for the RedHawks, who have now won nine contests in a row.

When it comes to explaining why Lake Park lost on Friday, don't look at Luke Bonacci. Despite the final result, he had 12 digs and two aces. Another player making a difference was Jake Ellenbecker, who had 16 assists and three digs.

Marist's win bumped their record up to 38-2. As for Lake Park, with the loss, they broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 28-12.

Marist wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against Lane Tech on the 7th. Lake Park does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
