Softball Recap: Williams Snags Eighth Victory in Last Ten Games

Williams got themselves on the board against Ray on Saturday, but Ray never followed suit. They were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over the Bearcats. Considering the Vikings have won 11 matchups by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Danika Howe made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out seven over five innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run.

In other batting news, Audrina Baldwin was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three runs, two doubles, and one RBI. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Reina Rocha, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Williams always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .517. They are a perfect 9-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Williams has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten games. That's provided a massive bump to their 14-11 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.1 runs over those games. As for Ray, they dropped their record down to 8-19 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road.

As of now, neither Williams nor the Bearcats have any future games scheduled.
