Basketball Game Preview: Colfax-Mingo Tigerhawks vs. Colo-NESCO Royals

The Colfax-Mingo Tigerhawks will face off against the Colo-NESCO Royals at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Last Friday, Colfax-Mingo had to suffer through a 60-22 loss at the hands of Montezuma. While losing is never fun, the Tigerhawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 265th, while the Braves are ranked 81st).

Meanwhile, after soaring to 59 points the game before, Colo-NESCO was a bit more limited in their game on Friday. They were dealt a 60-9 defeat at the hands of BCLUW. The contest marked the Royals' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Colfax-Mingo has traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-14 record this season. As for Colo-NESCO, their loss dropped their record down to 4-11.

Colfax-Mingo took a serious blow against Colo-NESCO in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, falling 42-14. Can Colfax-Mingo avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
