Volleyball Recap: Gresham Community Find Success

Gresham Community's game last Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They came out on top against the White Lake Lakers by a score of 3-1. The win continues a trend for the Wildcats in their matchups with the Lakers: they've now won nine in a row.

The match finished with set scores of 26-24, 18-25, 25-17, 25-20.

Alivia Perez paced Gresham Community's offense, picking up 11 kills. Perez got some help from Grace Haffner and her 18 assists. Emily Jensen controlled things from the service line, finishing with six aces.

White Lake lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Kianna Boyd, who had five digs and three aces.

The victory got Gresham Community back to even at 6-6. As for White Lake, they are on an 18-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Gresham Community didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-2 loss against Marion on the 18th. As for White Lake, they will take on Northland Lutheran at 7:00 p.m. on the 25th.
