Football Recap: Sahuaro Skates Past Douglas with Ease

Sahuaro won the last time they faced Douglas and things went their way on Friday too. The Cougars took their game with ease, bagging a 42-7 victory over the Bulldogs. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as the Cougars just coasted through the last quarter.

Julian Perez had a dynamite game, rushing for 105 yards and a pair of TDs. Those 105 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Mariano Blackwell, who threw for 143 yards and one touchdown while completing 91.7% of his passes.

Sahuaro has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 11.7 points on average over those games. As for Douglas, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 4-3.
