Preview: Lincoln Lions vs. Leland Chargers

Lincoln is 0-3 against Leland since December of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Lincoln Lions will be home for the holidays to greet the Leland Chargers at 7:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Last Tuesday, in a tight game that could have gone either way, Lincoln made off with a 59-58 victory over Mt. Pleasant. The victory was just what Lincoln needed coming off of a 75-38 loss in their prior matchup.

Mussie Yimer was his usual excellent self, scoring 17 points. Another player making a difference was Joseph Shelton, who scored ten points.

Meanwhile, Leland came tearing into Thursday's contest with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 35 points) and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 58-50 victory over Monta Vista.

Lincoln now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Leland, their win bumped their record up to 6-2.

Lincoln came up short against Leland when the teams last played back in May of 2021, falling 57-46. Thankfully for Lincoln, Jacob Kuverji (who scored 11 points along with five rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
