Riverside is 7-1 against Briar Woods since April of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. After both having extra time off, the two teams will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 6:30 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Riverside 3.9, Briar Woods 2.3) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Loudoun County hit Riverside with a five-run third inning last Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Ram took a 9-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Captains. The Ram have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Briar Woods came tearing into last Tuesday's contest with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3.7 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on the Titans with a sharp 12-2 victory. The Falcons' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Caprice Bohmer and Kara Yurish did most of the damage at the plate: Bohmer went 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs, while Yurish went a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. That's the most stolen bases Yurish has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Ellie Petitt, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Briar Woods always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Briar Woods' win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-2. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.5 runs on average over those games. As for Riverside, their loss dropped their record down to 8-4.

Riverside came out on top in a nail-biter against Briar Woods in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, sneaking past 4-3. Do the Ram have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Falcons turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
