Recap: Iroquois West Raiders vs. Milford Bearcats
The Iroquois West Raiders were the 56-20 winner over the Milford Bearcats when they last played one another back in February of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Iroquois West fell 38-27 to Milford on Thursday. Iroquois West's loss continues an unfortunate trend for the team, making it three in a row.
It was another big night for Hunter Mowrey, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 13 rebounds for Milford. Mowrey has been hot recently, having posted 11 or more rebounds the last four times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kami Muehling, who scored six points.
Iroquois West has not been sharp recently as the team's lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 15-11 record this season. As for Milford, they now have a winning record of 14-13.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Iroquois West is on the road again on Wednesday and plays Cissna Park at 6:00 p.m. on February 7th. As for Milford, they will square off against Watseka at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Watseka presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Milford in Illinois (Watseka is ranked 180th, while Milford is ranked 513th).
