Softball Recap: Bountiful Takes Down Ranked Cyprus

Bountiful faced Cyprus in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Redhawks narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Pirates 7-5. The victory continues a trend for the Redhawks in their matchups with the Pirates: they've now won six in a row.

Carpenter Dylan made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched 3.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. Dylan was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-5 with one run and one RBI.

In other batting news, Bountiful let McKinley Duryea and Peyton Orchard run wild. Duryea went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI and one double, while Orchard went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI Duryea has posted since back in April of 2025. Aimee Moore also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Bountiful kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cyprus only managed eight.

Bountiful's record now sits at 3-4. As for Cyprus, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-5.

Looking ahead, Bountiful will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Bear River at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Cyprus, they are taking a road trip to take on Deseret Peak at 3:30 p.m. on Monday.
