Recap: Delta Panthers vs. Rifle Bears

In what's become a running theme this season, the Delta Panthers gave their fans yet another huge win on Tuesday. They blew past Rifle, posting a 61-10 win on the road. Winning may never get old, but Delta sure is getting used to it with their eighth in a row.

Delta's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Taylor Somers, who scored eight points along with eight rebounds and eight steals. Somers is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last eight games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Breezy Huff, who scored nine points along with eight rebounds and five steals.

Delta's win bumped their record up to 8-4. As for Rifle, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Delta will challenge Moffat County at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Moffat County focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 23 on Friday. As for Rifle, they will head out on the road to challenge Coal Ridge at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Coal Ridge is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home.
