Football Recap: Northside Starts Season with Win on the Road

Northside had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They blew past the Shaw Raiders 31-8. With the Patriots ahead 24-0 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.

Northside's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jai Jackson, who rushed for 84 yards and three scores on only ten carries. Those three rushing touchdowns gave Jackson a new career-high. Northside also got a significant boost from Alex Tarboro, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 138 yards.

Northside will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Northgate at 7:30 p.m. on the 29th. As for Shaw, they will host Smiths Station at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
