Softball Recap: Providence Comes Up Short

Providence came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Weddington Warriors, falling 14-4. The loss was the Panthers' first of the season.

Providence saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sophie Strugar, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Having lost for the first time this season, Providence fell to 2-1. As for Weddington, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

Looking ahead, Providence will welcome Porter Ridge at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Providence is facing Porter Ridge at the right time seeing as Porter Ridge is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Weddington, they are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game this season: they will face off against Ardrey Kell at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
