Softball Recap: Valley Christian Lions vs. Buckingham Charter Knights
Valley Christian had lost three straight on the road, but on Monday they dropped their record down to 4-7 to make it four. They lost 16-2 to the Buckingham Charter Knights. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Knights this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 14-4 on April 3rd.
As for Buckingham Charter, the win was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-1. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.9 runs on average over those games.
For Buckingham Charter's part, Haley Griffin was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out 14 batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. Griffin has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.
