Basketball Game Preview: Auburn Bulldogs vs. Plattsmouth Blue Devils

Having just played yesterday, the Auburn Bulldogs will get right back to it and host the Plattsmouth Blue Devils at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Auburn is looking for their season's first victory.

Auburn lost 46-21 to Elmwood-Murdock on Friday.

Meanwhile, Plattsmouth hadn't done well against Platteview recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Plattsmouth narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Platteview 57-55. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Blue Devils.

Plattsmouth's win came from a few key players Auburn will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Mila Wehrbein, who went 6 of 10 on her way to 18 points in addition to five boards and three steals. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in blocks (two). Another player making a difference was Averi Winters, who posted ten points and three steals.

Plattsmouth now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Auburn, their loss dropped their record down to 0-3.

Auburn came up short against Plattsmouth in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, falling 48-44. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Plattsmouth's Jolie Dix, who went 6 of 9 on her way to 16 points and four steals.
