Basketball Recap: Oakley Comes Up Short

Oakley suffered their biggest loss since January 20th on Tuesday. They were dealt a 64-36 defeat at the hands of the Thomas More Prep-Marian Monarchs. Perhaps unsurprisingly, the Plainsmen's biggest loss of the season was also their lowest-scoring.

Several Plainsmen players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Mason Jackson, who posted nine points and eight rebounds. Jackson is on a roll when it comes to boards, as he's now pulled down eight or more in each of the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Carter Selensky, who scored 11 points.

Oakley has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games, which has put a noticeable dent in their 8-12 record this season. As for Thomas More Prep-Marian, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-9.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Oakley will challenge Cheylin on Friday. As for Thomas More Prep-Marian, they will take on Norton at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
