Soccer Game Preview: Muskogee vs. Owasso

The Muskogee Roughers will head out on the road to square off against the Owasso Rams at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Muskogee has struggled recently with three losses in a row, while Owasso will arrive with ten straight victories.

Muskogee fell victim to Broken Arrow and their airtight defense on Tuesday. They lost 8-0 to the Tigers. While losing is never fun, Muskogee can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma soccer rankings (they are ranked 67th, while Broken Arrow are ranked fifth).

Meanwhile, Owasso won against Charles Page on Friday with eight goals and they decided to stick to that goal total again on Tuesday. Everything went the Rams' way against Mustang as they made off with an 8-2 win. Owasso might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by three goals or more this season.

Owasso pushed their record up to 13-3 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 12 goals over those three matchups. As for Muskogee, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-8-1.

Muskogee suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Owasso when the teams last played back in April of 2023. Can the Roughers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
