Basketball Recap: Terryville Takes a Loss

Terryville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were outmatched by the Shepaug Valley Spartans and fell 84-48. The Kangaroos were probably out for revenge after losing 70-53 to them when the teams met back in January of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Leading Shepaug Valley to victory were Reed Woerner and James Kersten. Woerner went 14 for 33 on his way to 36 points along with seven rebounds and seven steals, while Kersten went 6 of 14 en route to 23 points in addition to seven steals and six assists. Woerner's evening made it nine games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Drew Konik, who posted nine points and three steals.

Terryville's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Shepaug Valley, the win keeps them at an undefeated 9-0.

Terryville has already played their next match (against Hartford Magnet Trinity College Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Shepaug Valley didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, an 89-26 victory against Whitney RVT on the 14th.
