Basketball Game Preview: Wray Eagles vs. Brush Beetdiggers

The Wray Eagles will challenge the Brush Beetdiggers at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Wray is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They strolled past Platte Valley with points to spare on Saturday, taking the game 71-55.

Aaron Tena was his usual excellent self, going 7-for-16 on his way to 18 points along with eight boards and five steals. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in three-point shooting accuracy (43%). Another player making a difference was Bryson Lewis, who went 5-for-10 en route to 14 points.

Meanwhile, Brush made easy work of Valley on Tuesday and carried off a 54-32 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Beetdiggers.

Wray's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-13. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.7 points over those games. As for Brush, their victory bumped their record up to 10-12.

Wray came up short against Brush when the teams last played back in January, falling 41-34. Can Wray avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
