Softball Game Preview: Teague Lions vs. China Spring Cougars

A feisty cat fight will be fought as Teague Lions take on China Spring Cougars at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. Teague is coming into the game on a six-game losing streak.

Teague had taken Elkhart down for four straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Friday. Teague came up short against Elkhart, falling 24-11. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Lions have suffered against the Elks since March 13, 2020.

Meanwhile, everything went China Spring's way against Stephenville on Tuesday as China Spring made off with a 12-4 victory. The Cougars might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by eight runs or more this season.

China Spring got a massive performance out of Taryn Crouch, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooklyn Jamerson, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-5.

Crouch wasn't the only one working in the hit department: China Spring kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Stephenville only managed five hits.

China Spring's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-5. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 8 runs. As for Teague, their loss dropped their record down to 1-8.
