Basketball Recap: Bloomburg Takes a Loss

Bloomburg lost against Union Hill back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Bloomburg Wildcats fell 55-46 to the Union Hill Bulldogs.

Union Hill's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was EJ Mowery, who dropped a double-double on 30 points and 16 rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which Mowery has scored at least a third of Union Hill's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Micah Barlow, who went 6 for 9 en route to 13 points.

Bloomburg's defeat dropped their record down to 5-19. As for Union Hill, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 11-13.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Wildcats face off against the Lions at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Saltillo's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last six matchups. As for Union Hill, they are taking a road trip to challenge Avinger at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Union Hill is facing Avinger at the right time seeing as Avinger is stuck on a 20-game losing streak.
