Baseball Recap: Dunlap Takes a Loss

Dunlap lost against Joliet Catholic back in May of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Dunlap took a 7-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of Joliet Catholic. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Jackson Newton was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That triple marked the first that he hit this season. Another player making a difference was Ryder Rennette, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Dunlap's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Joliet Catholic, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Dunlap will challenge Fieldcrest at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Joliet Catholic, they will face off against Oswego at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Oswego will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something Joliet Catholic surely won't give up without a fight.
