Baseball Recap: La Academia Charter Takes a Loss

La Academia Charter had lost six straight at home dating back to last season, but on Monday they dropped their record down to 0-7 to make it seven. They came up short against the Conestoga Christian Cougars, falling 21-1. The Leones were not able to make up for their defeat to the Cougars from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

As for Conestoga Christian, their win bumped their record up to 6-4. Considering they have won six matchups by more than six runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

For Conestoga Christian's part, the team relied heavily on Cameron Johnson, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Those two stolen bases gave Johnson a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Samuel Lilley, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with three runs and two RBI.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. La Academia Charter will welcome Penn Wood at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Conestoga Christian, they will be playing at home against West Shore Christian Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
