Basketball Recap: Orion Comes Up Short

Orion was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 69-35 loss at the hands of the Wethersfield Flying Geese. While losing is never fun, the Chargers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 413th, while the Flying Geese are ranked 106th).

Orion's loss dropped their record down to 9-17. As for Wethersfield, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 20-4 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Orion has already played their next game (against Mercer County), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Wethersfield will welcome Princeville at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Wethersfield will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.
