Basketball Recap: Regis Groff Falls Despite Big Games from Joel Alegbe and Davonte Robinson

Regis Groff came up into this matchup off a tough 23-point defeat on Friday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Weld Central Rebels by a score of 50-47 on Saturday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Fusion have suffered since February 13th.

Regis Groff's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Davonte Robinson, who went 8 for 20 on his way to 20 points, and Joel Alegbe, who posted eight points and ten boards. Robinson has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last six times he's played.

Weld Central got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Brayden Moser out in front who had 12 points and four steals. Ricky Smith was another key player, putting up 11 points and three steals.

Regis Groff is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-4. As for Weld Central, they moved to 1-5 with that win, which also ended their seven-game losing streak.
