Softball Game Preview: Atkins Red Devils vs. Riverview Raiders

The Atkins Red Devils will venture away from home to take on the Riverview Raiders at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Jessieville hit Atkins with a four-run seventh inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Red Devils fell just short of the Lions by a score of 7-6.

Aubrey May led a balanced group of hitters, going 3-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. Hadlie Colburn also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Meanwhile, Riverview fell victim to Rose Bud and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They came up short against the Ramblers, falling 20-0. The Raiders haven't had much luck with the Ramblers recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Riverview's defeat dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Atkins, their loss dropped their record down to 4-11.
