Basketball Recap: Kenya Copeland Key Part of a Team Effort in Generals Win

Wayne Preparatory Academy's game last Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They were the clear victor by a 49-28 margin over the Alpha Academy Timberwolves. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Generals as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Wayne Preparatory Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Kenya Copeland out in front who went 5 of 11 on her way to 10 points and seven steals. Onisty Jones was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on ten points and nine rebounds.

Wayne Preparatory Academy's record is now 9-6. As for Alpha Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Howard the next time they take the court. Wayne Preparatory Academy will head out to face Howard at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, while Alpha Academy will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on January 22nd.
