Windsor Charter Academy's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Dayton Long, who dropped a double-double with 26 points and 13 rebounds, and Andrew Schams, who shot 45% from the field on his way to 22 points along with six assists and six boards. The contest was Long's sixth in a row with at least 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Unruh, who posted eight points in addition to seven rebounds and six assists.
They weren't the only ones working in the assist department: Windsor Charter Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 25 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in December of 2024.
Meanwhile, you're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter and that's exactly how it played out for Banning Lewis Academy on Saturday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that they blew Buena Vista out of the water with a 70-25 final score. Fans of the Stallions have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 20+ points.
Windsor Charter Academy better keep an eye on Matthew Lebron. He was instrumental in Banning Lewis Academy's win, going 13-for-19 to rack up 31 points and three steals. Lebron has been hot for a while, having posted 18 or more points the last ten times he's played. Jordan Jones was another key player, putting up seven points along with seven boards and three blocks.
Banning Lewis Academy's victory bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Windsor Charter Academy, their win bumped their record up to an identical 5-0.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Windsor Charter Academy has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 37.2 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Banning Lewis Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 33.4 boards.
