Basketball Recap: Jay Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Jayden Casiano and Robert Williams

Jay was the 76-44 winner over Churchill when they last played one another back in December of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Mustangs took a 73-62 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Chargers on Monday. The Mustangs' loss continues a trend for the team, making it four in a row.

Robert Williams and Jayden Casiano certainly did their best on Monday to avoid the loss. Williams posted 22 points and three steals, while Casiano shot 64% from the field on his way to 17 points. Alijah Hubbard was another key player, putting up eight points and five blocks.

Jay's defeat dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Churchill, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-9.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Jay will be taking part in a tournament against McKinney Boyd at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Churchill, they will take on Steele at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
