Volleyball Recap: Satellite Takes a Loss

Satellite and Merritt Island squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Satellite had to settle for second. They came up short against the Mustangs, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the fourth time they've come up short against the Mustangs this season, with their most recent loss being a 3-1 defeat back in September.

Despite the defeat, Satellite saw an underclassman step up: freshman Cady Tinch had 21 digs and two assists. Tinch is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 12 or more in each of the last three games she's played.

Sarah Niazi went supernova For Merritt Island., getting 22 digs and two aces. Khloe Horton was another key player, getting ten digs and one assist.

Satellite's loss dropped their record down to 15-9. As for Merritt Island, the victory was the 19th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 25-2.

As of now, neither Satellite nor the Mustangs have any future games scheduled.
