Soccer Game Preview: Greeley West vs. Frontier Academy

The Greeley West Spartans will square off against the Frontier Academy Wolverines at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Greeley West has struggled recently with five defeats in a row, while Frontier Academy will arrive with eight straight wins.

Greeley West fell victim to Fossil Ridge and their airtight defense on Thursday. They lost 10-0 to the SaberCats. While losing is never fun, Greeley West can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado soccer rankings (they are ranked 170th, while Fossil Ridge are ranked third).

Meanwhile, Frontier Academy kept a clean sheet against Windsor Charter Academy on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Firebirds 1-0.

Frontier Academy pushed their record up to 8-2 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. As for Greeley West, their loss dropped their record down to 3-7-2.

Greeley West might still be hurting after the 4-0 defeat they got from Frontier Academy in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can the Spartans avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
