Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Addison Szuta and Haylee Barnekow Lead Phelps to Victory

Phelps hadn't done well against Goodman-Pembine recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Knights put the hurt on the Falcons with a sharp 3-0 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Knights.

Phelps was especially dominant in the first set. The final score came out to 25-10, 25-18, 25-16.

Phelps was led to victory by Haylee Barnekow and Addison Szuta. Barnekow had eight kills, seven digs, and seven aces, while Szuta had six aces and one assist. Those seven aces gave Barnekow a new career-high.

They weren't the only good servers: Phelps was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 22 aces. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their ace total in three consecutive contests.

Phelps' record is now 9-18. As for Goodman-Pembine, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-17.

Phelps didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 loss against Florence on the 7th. As for Goodman-Pembine, they have also already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against Elcho on the 3rd.
